You may be aware that we have been planning and preparing to run the fifth Hack24 event on 9th-10th March 2019. It is with regret that we announce that this event will not be taking place.
For personal reasons we are in the process of narrowing the scope of Tech Nottingham's activities for the coming year. Unfortunately this means we will not be able to run Hack24 in 2019.
We love Hack24
Hack24 is truly a highlight of our year, it achieves a fantastic impact and we adore working with the community, the volunteers, suppliers and sponsors who come together and work so hard to make the event so special. There has been no shortage of enthusiasm and engagement for another Hack24 in 2019.
We can only do it if we can do it well
We believe strongly in the impact that well planned and executed events like Hack24 have - bringing together our attendees, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers and guests for an amazing weekend of code and creativity develops the meaningful lasting relationships that are the backbone of a strong local tech community. Everyone involved puts thought, effort and a big part of themselves into making this happen.
We realise that if we are unable to commit our usual level of energy and focus to ensuring Hack24 is the amazing event it always has been, then we risk letting down the people who will have worked so hard. That can't happen, that's why we need to take a step back for the time being.
The future of Hack24
Right now we don't know what the future holds for Hack24, all we know is that it can't happen next year. We do hope it comes back. As soon as we are sure we'll be able to bring the event back and follow through on organising a fantastic hackathon, then you will hear that familiar hype train approaching.
We'd like to thank you and everyone involved for believing in Hack24 and working so hard with us to make it happen every year, we look forward to hacking with you again soon.
